Knowledge Levels of Coffee Shop Employees Regarding Food Photography

Nowadays, food photographs are considered highly important for the promotion and marketing activities of food and beverage businesses, as they directly increase consumers’ motivation towards the act of eating. This study was prepared with the aim of determining the level of interest of employees in coffee shop businesses towards food photography, their usage in this field, and their level of knowledge. In the research, the attitudes and behaviors of employees regarding food photography were analyzed using data obtained through the survey technique, one of the quantitative research methods. As a result of the study, it was determined that the most important elements in food photography are professional knowledge, lighting, camera quality, the use of trick methods in food photography, creativity, food sensitivity, and color harmony, especially when conducting menu planning studies. In the study, it was recommended that food and beverage businesses be informed about the contribution of food photography to the enterprise and regional tourism, and that they be encouraged to promote the use of this field within their establishments.
