Determination of Gastronomy Tourism Potential in Siirt By Swot Analysis

The province of Siirt has a place of great importance in terms of gastronomy tourism potential, thanks to the abundance of natural products in the region and the cultural interactions of people of multiple ethnic origins. In this study; By determining the gastronomic tourism potential of Siirt province, it is aimed to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats in terms of gastronomy tourism. In the study carried out using the interview technique, one of the qualitative data collection methods; The strengths of gastronomic tourism in Siirt are the fact that people from different backgrounds live together in Siirt and have a rich and deep-rooted culinary culture; The weak points are that the food and beverage businesses give a limited place to local flavors in their menus or not. The diversity and originality of local dishes are the opportunities offered by Siirt in terms of gastronomic tourism; It has been concluded that the fact that the local people do not have knowledge about gastronomy, the local dishes of Siirt province are difficult and costly compared to other dishes, and the fact that they cannot be included in the menus of local businesses reveals the current and potential threat elements of Siirt province in terms of gastronomy tourism.
