Sustainable Competitive Advantage in Hospitality Businesses and a Qualitative Research Example

In the hospitality industry, sustainable competitive advantage has become a strategic necessity to ensure long-term success. In addition to traditional competitive advantage factors, customer-oriented service approach, innovation, quality management, and environmental sustainability are of paramount importance in today’s rapidly changing business environment. Furthermore, adopting sustainable tourism practices adds value to businesses both environmentally and economically, increasing customer loyalty and brand value. To remain resilient in times of crisis, it is crucial to develop flexibility, rapid adaptability, and innovative business models. In addition, managing qualified human resources and employee motivation plays a critical role in sustaining competitive advantage. As a result, to achieve long-term success, hospitality businesses must develop strategies that can quickly adapt to changing market conditions, effectively use technology, and continuously analyze and meet customer expectations. Therefore, businesses aiming to secure sustainable competitive advantage should adopt a management approach that is both innovative and socially and environmentally responsible. In this study, the concepts of sustainability competitive advantage, accommodation businesses and innovation were discussed and the studies carried out on these topics to date were examined, conclusions were drawn and concrete suggestions were made.
