So much so that tourism revenues have been seen as the key to growth and development for developed and developing countries. In addition, tourism is one of the most important sub-items of the services sector, which ensures the redistribution of income and wealth between and within the country. Since it is related to many sectors, it contributes to employment with the positive externalities it creates and plays an important role in closing foreign trade deficit, current account deficit and balance of payments deficits. Today, in addition to being the fastest growing sector in the world economy, alternative tourism types that are constantly changing according to the wishes and needs of people are also emerging. In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the effects of tourism revenues on the Turkish economy through macroeconomic variables in the 2001-2021 period with statistical data. According to the evaluations made from the data obtained, it can be said that tourism revenues positively affect economic growth and development in Turkey by making significant contributions to increasing income and gross domestic product, closing foreign trade deficit, current account deficit and balance of payments deficits, reducing unemployment and increasing employment.
2022-09-30T17:41:02+03:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://temapor.com/index.php/tema/article/view/30 A Review on Interrelation between Tourism and Migration Phenomenologies 2022-09-30T19:59:46+03:00 Yakup Kemal ÖZEKİCİ ykozekici@gmail.com
The tourism system is a trigger for migration in terms of dimensions such as secondary housing and workforce. However, it is a matter of debate whether the act of travel is an act of immigration in itself. Touristic mobility represents a phenomenon in which there is no common opinion about its definition, and the basis of this situation is the differences in the definition of actions. The aim of this study is to bring together the arguments that define tourism as a migration movement and those that do not, and to enhance ideas in this way, based on the discussions on the relationship between tourism and migration phenomena in the literature. In this context, firstly, the mutually motivating structures of the causes and results of tourism-oriented migrations are explained. Afterwards, the considerations developed for the idea of positioning the tourism act as an act of migration in the literature were examined and in this way, it contributed to the positioning of the tourist mobility phenomenon in the migration literature. As a result of the study, theoretical and practical suggestions have been developed that will contribute to the interdisciplinary evolution of tourism.
2022-09-30T17:41:16+03:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://temapor.com/index.php/tema/article/view/31 The Relationship Between Tourism Revenues and Carbon Emissions (CO2): An Empirical Analysis on Turkey 2022-09-30T19:55:48+03:00 Mahmut Sami DURAN msduran@selcuk.edu.tr
When the tourism sector is evaluated together with its sub-sectors, it contributes to the production of many economic outputs and has positive effects on economic growth. On the other hand, the fact that it contains intensive consumption activities increases the energy consumption significantly due to the increased production. Increasing demand for energy can also cause adverse effects on the environment. For this reason, the tourism sector can have positive economic effects as well as negative effects. The aim of the study is to determine the causality relationship between tourism revenues and carbon emissions in Turkey. The Toda-Yamamoto causality test was used in the study using datasets between 1995 and 2020. Energy consumption and growth data were also used as other independent variables in the study. The findings obtained from the study revealed unidirectional causality from tourism revenues to carbon emissions (〖CO〗_2), energy consumption and growth.
2022-09-30T17:41:31+03:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement##
